Essential Oil - Orange (Sweet)

Botanical name: Citrus sinensis Color: Clear Consistency: Very thin Perfumery note: Top Related Planets/Deities: Sun Aroma: Sweet, citrusy, light, very present Energetic Properties: Warming, freeing, joining Aromatherapy Properties: In an aroma burner, Sweet Orange oil creates relaxation and peace. A yellowy-orange or dark orange mobile liquid with a sweet, fresh-fruity scent, richer than the steam distilled Orange oil. It blends well with lavender, neroli, lemon, clary sage, myrrh and spice oils such as nutmeg, cinnamon and clove. Spiritual Uses: Sweet orange is noted for its ability to provide spiritual guidance and protection without dulling the perception of the user. Some have said the orange is the golden apple given to Zeus by Hera on their wedding day, and so Sweet Orange can be used in any kind of magickal or spiritual practice involving the binding of two elements. It is generally well-suited for protection spells. Blends well with: Cinnamon, Ginger, Vetiver, Lavender, Sandalwood, Myrrh, and Nutmeg. History: The Sweet Orange does not occur naturally in the wild, and is believed to have been cultivated first in either China, northeastern India, or southeast Asia. The Spanish introduced the Sweet Orange to South America and Mexico in the mid-1500s, and the French most likely brought it to Louisiana. It was from there that seeds made their way to Florida, where the first large-scale cultivation of the fruit began, in which Sweet Orange was grafted onto Sour orange rootstock. Presently, Brazil and the U.S. are the worlds two major orange producers. This product sold for aromatherapy purposes onlyPerfect for use with our Ceramic Oil Burners as well.
