Aromatherapy Properties: A pale greeny-yellow liquid with a light, fresh, citrusscent. It blends well with lavender, neroli, ylang-ylang, rose, sandalwood,frankincense, chamomile, benzoin, fennel, geranium, eucalyptus, juniper,oakmoss, elemi, labdanum, and citrus oils. Pure lemon essential oil invigoratesthe senses and adds cheer to any environment with crisp, fresh, aromatic notes. Spiritual Uses: With its sunny brightness, Lemon has long been held to aid in balancing disparate elements, and so is useful for spiritual seekers looking for metaphysical guidance in decision-making. Lemon is also useful for the clearing of negative energy and “bad vibes.” Lemon is also sometimes associated with the New Moon, and thus may be used in hexes and dark magick. Blends well with: Peppermint for a particularly uplifting, focusing blend. Lemon also blends nicely with Lavender, Benzoin, Chamomile, Neroli, Sandalwood, Rose, Juniper Berry, and citrus oils. History: Though believed to have originated in Burma, China, and India, the exact origins of the Lemon are unknown. In pre-Christian times, Lemon was well known in South and Southeast Asia, and used as an antiseptic. Around the time of Christ, it came to Europe, and made its way to the Middle East and northern Africa around 700 ACE. Christopher Columbus brought Lemon seeds with him on his voyages to the Americas, and the tree was spread around the continent by the Spanish Conquistadors. Today, Lemon is used for a plethora of applications, including cooking, perfumery, and medicine.
