Bel Fruit - 16 oz

Bel fruit is found wild all over the sub-Himalayan forests. It is sacred to Hindus and is the fruit offered to Lord Shiva; one of the main Deities of Hinduism. All parts of this tree have medicinal qualities.
The fruit contains volatile oils, pectin, and tannins. The wood-ash is rich in minerals and phosphates. The fruit is rich in riboflavin and is used in numerous products like candy, squash, toffee, slab, pulp powder, and nectar.
The fruit is also good for nourishing the heart and brain. It also has wound healing properties. In homeopathy Bilwa is used in treating conjunctivitis and styes, rhinitis, coccygodynia, and nocturnal seminal emission associated with amorous dreams.
The traditional method of preparing Bel Fruit is to make it into a tea...soaked and boiled, strained free of fiber and the liquid sweetened and drunk as a tisane (infusion).
This may be diluted with water and ice and a squeeze of lime juice added to make a refreshing drink.
