Bala Root Powder (Sida Cordifolia)

OUT OF STOCK
Literally meaning youth in Sanskrit, Bala is traditionally thought to help maintain vitality.*
The presence of small amounts of the alkaloid ephedrine in the plant may partly explain the reputation of this herb in Ayurveda.
The plant is associated with the ancient Hindu Goddess of beauty and grace, Parvathy. The herb is part of the trinity of attributes associated with women in Indian herbal folklore, Tripura Sundari, meaning thrice beautiful.
Directions: The dry herb is commonly consumed as a tea. You can reuse the herb up to 4 times if you dry it out between uses. To make a strong tea (decoction), use 1/4 oz of dried root per cup of water. Boil the dry herb in the water until the water is reduced by half. Refrigerate and drink 2-3 tablespoons three times per day.
For the dried and powdered root, take 1/2 tsp per day. You can mix the root powder with tea, soups, or salads.
