Ashwagandha Whole Root (Withania somnifera)
This is simply the whole root version of Ashwahanda. Whole roots preserve more of the volatile oils, but require more time to steep. Usually, a big spoonful is stirred into the liquid of your choice with a pinch of honey and cinnamon, but with the Whole Root, you can put several roots into boiling water, bring to a simmer, and steep for several hours for full effects. You can also put 1 oz at a time into a pot of water, and let it steep all day. Then, you can simply re-heat as you need it throuhgout the day. Use it as a coffee substitute when you're craving a little variety in your morning ritual, or simply savor it throughout the day like your favorite tea. We prefer the whole roots because more of the original energy of the plant is preserved.
