Will you stop selling Salvia divinorum when it’s scheduled in Illinois?

by admin on May 22, 2007

Salvia is rapidly being made illegal in many states across the United States (including ours), but it’s still legal to buy it from venders in some states so, we now offer this:

Complete your purchase here for everything EXCEPT Salvia products using this coupon code: NOSALVIA08. It gets you FREE SHIPPING here, and once your purchase is complete from our shop, then use this link to BUY SALVIA ONLINE from our most trusted vender. By clicking that link, they will know you came from here, your order will get expedited processing, and we get to continue helping to spread the word of Salvia.

And yes, we have stopped selling Salvia divinorum.  We are one of the few fully licensed and certified ethnobotanical companies that exist today, and as a result, we follow the law exactly to protect our customers and our business.  In one of two scenarios, we would simply direct our customers to a company that we have already spoken about partnering with, so our present customers who are not in any of the states where Salvia is illegal, will still be able to purchse the uniquely high quality Salvia leaves and extracts that many have come to expect from us, or we would open a division of IAmShaman in another state (such as Indiana or California) that offers only Salvia, and conduct business as well as ship orders from there.

Once the bill passed both the House and the Senate (SB0226 and HB0457), there was no stopping the senseless scheduling of Salvia as a Schedule I drug, right between LSD and Peyote.  The law went into effect on January 1st of 2008, giving interested spriitual explorers time to get the Salvia they would like to purchase for themselves.

There are so many other rare and exotic botanicals that we are excited about, and part of me feels that Salvia is in the consciousness of the masses, and that when that day arrives in Illinois and the entire United States where Salvia is banned or scheduled, we can continue to focus on the countless other plants that have been used ritualistically or shamanistically for ages, that are presently overshadowed by plants like Salvia divinorum, before they too get senselessly scheuled out of our hands, removing more personal freedoms that the consitution of the United States originally gave us. We will never give up the fight, and will continue to help defeat the Salvia Bill up in California as best we can.

As of this writing, the Federal Government has moved to make Salvia illegal across the entire United States.  We will kjeep you posted on the progress of that tragic series of events. - Sarva Shanti, Bodhi

O.M.G, the Government is just so stupid. Oh yeah let make salvia illegal, but let’s not put that same effort towards stopping some more serious crimes like cocaine, crystal meth, murders of innocent children and other more serious crimes or other dangerous drugs that are killing people. I love how that works really I do, a plant that was used by â??Aztec Shamansâ? for vision questing and to help achieve access to the spirit realm is make to look like the bad guy. A word to our Government: GROW UP!!!! Your as bad as some spoiled children.

Any decision as to opening a nearby outlet in another state? Very troubling not just for Salvia, but all herbs, what is next in the witch hunt? Is kava kava or valerium next? So very silly about Illinois law - people have friends in other states - how can one thing be illegal here and not across the boarder especially since the effect of strong doses is people just sitting down and chilling instead of like booze going out driving and killing others? So very messed up - some kid does salvia and documents it in his journal - months later after no longer doing it he commits suicide while intoxicated form booze, his drug of choice. The parents need something outside of the family to blame, and booze doesn’t cut it for suicide. The law proves they were innocent even though the plant has no history of sucide throught its thousands of years of use. Even the knuckleheads on home video just sit there and stay out of trouble (other than being stupid enough to be filmed by their so-called friends).

I live in Indiana, and on the news they just had a story about them considering some ban on salvia. They of course twisted all the facts and showed the users of the plant as crazed, and junkies. That one kid in Delaware who committed suicide they talked about him on the news did not even mention or show he had really bad acne and depression. And also look at all the pharmecutical drugs haven’t they killed a few thousand, look at all the medicine with black box warnings they actually cause you to want to kill yourself salvia will not turn you into a suicidal junkie but a more enlightened individual who has taken part in a plant that has been given to us by God(or whoever the supreme being is). I have used salvia several times, and each time it has left me in awe of what it can do. I am looking to do an internship at the state house of representatives in a few months hopefully I can talk with a representative about this plant, and hopefully help from it getting banned. Don’t worry this stupid “war” on drugs is going to end soon.

They will hunt and shut any door that can free the mind of the people. That’s the job of the government. Especially one as that has roots of slavery.
The spirits are beginning to call again on western people, and I don’t think idiotic laws can prevent whats coming.

OK to invade a country and in the process bankrupt our country, kill over a million Iraqi’s, and over 3,000 servicemen. But heaven forbid leaving the tiniest fraction of the population to enjoy a harmless herb.

To hell with the government!

Get out of my life!

Who do we contact to tell them not to pass this needless law? We should send them a pettion before they make this terrible mistake.

I had not been following this untilIheard today, December 26, on a radio newscast, that after January 1, 2008 salvia divinorum possession will be a “felony” in Illinois. I will look up the text of the law but meanwhile:

1. A Wikipedia article states this resulted from one (1) suicide of an 18-year-old man in Delaware. Tobacco kills 5.3 million per year (WHO 2003 estimate), mainly through hot-burning overdose cigarets. The Wiukipedia article mentioned alcohol and absinthe but not tobacco. Maybe you should look into the complex set of reasons (government dependent on the tax money) why tobacco gets a free ride.

2. Though I am not familiar with the case or what kind of “pipe” was found in the young man’s vicinity, the question is: if a very small-diameter utensil were promoted for use in smoking herbs– all species, including tobacco and cannabis– could the last doubt be removed whether any legal restrictions on possession and use are necessary? For more discussion see http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Smoking_Cessation.

Firstly I would like to say we don’t need to be comparing Salvia to other drugs or anything really. Everything should be based on it’s own and not because it is better or worse than something else. I agree that there are some really dangerous legal things (alcohol) but that’s a different issue. The fact is that salvia is not a harmful drug and is not known to inspire violence, rage, hate, or any negative emotions. And quite the contrary it is used to go on a journey of the mind, to free ourselves. This is the reason salvia should remain legal. The government is really starting to take away peoples freedom here and its only a matter of time till it goes too far. Now, the question is, how much can the people be pushed before they push back?

That’s got to be the dumbest thing ever! So they plan on banning Salvia a smoking HERB which God himself put on this earth so that we could HAVE it, which in no way is addicting nor does harm to the body!

Why is it too that Marajuna can be LEGALIZED as medicinal drug, and the effects of Salvia which (to my own experiances) have been LESS then marajuna and been quite uplifiting in the right atmosphere, can be ENTIRELY BANNED?

Also too, isn’t the government HAPPY about Salvia being legal, it means more MONEY for them! Soon their gonna realize that they made a bad move. Thats the one thing I never understand about our goverment, they think more on health and see things like Salvia and Marajuana as a killer, well get with the times guys! Tobacco kills more then Salvia or Marajuna, are you gonna outlaw tobacco next?

AND despite WHAT they do, people will ALWAYS find a way to get it, the plant salvia NATURALLY grows in a few places here in America, they’d have to exteminate all the plants of Salvia Divinorium. AND IF THEY’RE THAT STUPID, they’ll probably end up ruining some part of America’s ecosystem.

It will become like pot and other illegal substance, may get harder to find there but it will still be sold,

If the government makes salvia illegal (across the nation)…that would make me sick. I’m pissed off that’s it illegal in a few states already. At this point, I’m ready to move the fuck out of this country. I’ve never been proud of America (I respect our country, just not our leaders and decisions), and as time goes on, I get more upset with living here everyday. Freedom? Freedom my ass. I’m not allowed to smoke a plant that I could find in my own backyard? Well then why don’t they make everything illegal! I can go smoke a dandelion, and regardless of if it’s bad for you or not, if it makes you high or not, for whatever reason, if enough people do it, they’ll make it illegal just to collect our money. Our government is more like a leech, they just suck our money and fun from us all. My bags can be packed in a matter of a few days, Europe here I come.
